The licence, in plain terms.

What this covers

This page covers the TRND Hub™ software that AutoTrend Software LLC, trading as AutoTRND, offers to agencies — rented, or bought once. It is separate from the website terms and from the service agreement business owners sign.

It states the licence in plain terms. The licence agreement you sign when you buy is the binding document, and if the two ever differ, the signed agreement wins.

The two tiers

On the white-label tier the software carries your branding, and you may resell access to your own clients at whatever prices you set.

On the AutoTRND-branded tier you may run it for your clients with the AutoTRND name on it. You may not remove or replace that branding, or resell it at your own prices.

Both tiers carry unlimited clients, with no per-seat and no per-client fee.

Renting it: access, not ownership

We host a dedicated instance for you. It is never shared with another agency, and we install updates for you.

You get access to the software, not the source code, and you may not host it yourself.

When the rent stops, the instance stops — the same as anything else you rent. How your data is handed back is set out in your agreement.

Buying it once: a source licence

You receive a licence to the source code with no end date. You may deploy it on your own accounts, at your own cost, or take managed hosting from us.

If you stop managed hosting, the hosting stops but the licence does not. You can move the software to your own accounts and carry on.

The one thing you may not do

You may not resell, sublicense, publish or give away the source code itself, or sell it as your own software product. Selling the service you run on it is the point. Selling the code is not.

Updates are pulled, not pushed

Updates are published as they ship, with a changelog you can read before taking anything. If you host it yourself, you choose which to install and nothing is ever forced onto your build — a build you chose not to update is yours to run. If we host it, we install them for you.

The accounts you bring

Phone, text, social posting and ads run through your own provider account, on your own card. We help you set it up, and we never hold your card.

Your clients’ payments run through each client’s own Stripe account. Neither you nor we hold their money.

Managed hosting covers the database and the app hosting only. A very large book that needs more than the included capacity is billed at cost.

Your clients’ data

Your clients’ records belong to you and to them. Each agency runs on its own instance, never a shared one. When we host it, we access it only to run, maintain and support the service for you.

What stops, and when

A rental that is not paid: the instance stops. Managed hosting that is not paid: the hosting stops, and a licence you bought carries on regardless. A licence bought once: there is nothing to stop paying.

Warranty and liability

The software is provided as it is, to the fullest extent the law allows. Limits on liability are set in the signed licence agreement. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law

This licence is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
